His path in the music industry was incredible. He was one of the biggest models for the most famous musicians around the globe. Quincy Jones studied classical composition in Paris in the late 1950s. He lived across the street from Picasso and benefited from having Nadia Boulanger as his teacher. She was considered the mentor of the most famous composers and performers of the 20th century.
He also had a great career in arranging and was behind some of the biggest hits of the 1960s, such as Frank Sinatra’s Fly Me to the Moon.
2. Judith Jamison
Born in Philadelphia in 1943, Judith Jamison was an unparalleled force in American dance, a powerhouse performer, and a visionary leader as Alvin Ailey American Dance Teather’s second artistic director. Her grace and love seriously impacted every person who ever met Judith. She is a real icon who will always be remembered as one of the greatest American performers.
One of Judith Jamison’s famous quotes is, “Through dance, we’re as close to God as we’re going to get—until he calls us home.” She was incredibly connected with divinity and always had something important to say. 3. Mimi Hines
Mimi Hines was an amazing Broadway performer and singer. She became popular once she replaced Barbara Streisand in the original cast of Funny Girl. She passed away on October 21, when she was 91 years old.
Mimi Hines’s death was confirmed by Mark Sendroff, her longtime attorney, in a statement to PEOPLE, revealing that she died in her home.
4. Liam Payne
Liam Payne was a successful singer and songwriter, a former member of the One Direction vocal group. He died on October 16, after falling from his hotel balcony in Argentina. He had a lot of fans all around the world and his passing affected tons of people. A partial autopsy revealed that the star had multiple substances in his system when he died.
According to the National Capital Poison Center, a recreational drug that generally includes a combination of ketamine, MDMA, and methamphetamine.
Fans paid tribute to him at the hotel where he passed away. What was really intriguing about him was that he was clearly struggling, being alone in a totally different country. His girlfriend, posted on her social media accounts that she left Argentina just a few days before he died. If she knew how things would roll, she surely hadn’t left.
It’s believed that Liam was the one trying to reunite the band, but no one expected it to be for his funeral. Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan were present at their brother’s funeral and even wrote on all platforms that they’ll need time to process the loss.
5. Tony Todd
Tonny Todd became popular for his roles in Candyman and Final Destination. Candyman was released in 1992 and this horror film series offered Tony Todd the chance to be nominated for the Best Actor award that same year.
On November 6, the award-winning actor passed away and his manager was the one who confirmed his death. Jeffrey Goldberg wrote that Tony Todd was an amazing man and that he’ll miss him every single day.
Tony Todd died at his home in Marina Del Rey, California, but Goldberg didn’t reveal the cause.
6. Teri Garr
The comedy actress has died at 79. She started her career with small gigs in Elvis Presley movies, but some of her most famous roles were Tootsie and Young Frankenstein. She was the daughter of Eddie Garr and Phyllis Garr, two incredibly popular figures, an actor and a costume designer, who contributed a lot in shaping her career as we know it. She received an Oscar Best Supporting Actress nomination for the latter role.

Smith captivated audiences and some of her most remarkable appearances were as Professor Minerva Mc McGonagall in the Harry Potter series to Violet Crawley, the Dowager Countess of Grantham, in Downtown Abbey. Her career, spanning more than 7 decades, earned her multiple Academy Awards, BAFTAs, and an enduring place in the hearts of fans worldwide.
Dame Maggie Smith was born in Essex, England, and was an incredible figure, standing out in every role she overtook.
Unfortunately, in 2024, Smith was dealing with serious heart complications from an old condition. Her passing was hardly accepted by her fans, because for many, she was more than just an actress, she had an immense talent and was a symbol of excellence.
