There are basically no limits when it comes to naked scenes in movies, they are becoming more and more provocative and popular. Some of the most recognizable and famous actresses went full-frontal and you shouldn’t be missing all these scenes. Do you recognize any of these movies?
1. Jennifer Lawrence – “No Hard Feelings”
In the comedy, Jennifer appeared completely naked, even though everyone on her team was extremely concerned about the idea. They kept asking her over and over again “Are you sure?” She didn’t even have a second thought and immediately accepted the offer.
We all love Jennifer Lawrence and we also admire her dedication to a performance. Even though a lot of people were speculating that they used a body double for the “No Hard Feelings” movie, that is completely false! If you watched the movie you basically had the chance to admire Jennifer’s completely naked body while enjoying a nice comedy. I’ll say that’s a double win!
This was not the single time when Jennifer Lawrence appeared naked onscreen. It also happened, back in 2018, for the Red Sparrow movie. In an interview, she said that she didn’t want to ruin the character because of her insecurities, so she did it without overthinking the topic!
The courage famous actors and actresses have when it comes to filming hot scenes also depends on the genre. In the case of “No Hard Feelings”, Jennifer didn’t feel the pressure of playing a seductive role. She didn’t need to play a sexy character. She just needed to be completely natural. She did an amazing job and if you haven’t watched the movie yet, you should do it ASAP. Buy some popcorn and tell your husband that you’re ready for a movie night.
2. Angelina Jolie – “By the Sea”
The movie had Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as main characters. It was the first nude scene for the actress and she claimed that it was easier for her considering that her husband was there. However, she didn’t feel comfortable at all. In an interview she said that she didn’t want to do it and she was constantly thinking about which scenes should be cut off… but then she realized it could be considered cheating, so she decided to go all the way and do it for the character!
The scene has Angelina Jolie sitting topless in a bathtub and even though the Oscar-winning actress seems fearless she still found herself second-guessing some of the planned scenes. The fact that she did it even though she was scared, deserves your attention. So, watch the movie if you haven’t done it yet. It’s likely to remain the only full front scene with the actress.
3. Alexandra Daddario – “True Detective”
In 2014, Alexandra Daddario filmed several nude scenes with Woody Harrelson. The actress saw the opportunity as an amazing chance to test her limits. She wanted to be part of the show at all costs and understood that the nudity could not have been missing. The character was different than anything Alexandra played before, so she tried her best to go all the way and do everything necessary.
She saw the scene as a turning point in her career, opening doors and helping Daddario be seen by a wider audience. She calculated every move she made and tried not to cross any limits. After the movie was released, Alexandra understood a lot about herself and her sex appeal. The phones were nonstop ringing and she received a lot of great offers. After that, Alexandra felt better and learned how to use her assets in different roles.
4. Scarlett Johansson – “Under the Skin”
In 2013, Scarlett Johansson took part in the “Under the Skin” movie cast and claimed in an interview for the New York Times that the entire experience was extremely challenging. 5. Kate Winslet – “Titanic”
Oh, who doesn’t love Kate Winslet? She is probably one of the most famous actresses and her performance in Titanic can never be forgotten. Aside from the topless scene from Titanic, Kate Winslet appeared multiple times naked in movies. In an interview for Vogue, in 2023, she spoke about her experience of filming totally naked. She said that she stopped criticizing her physical appearance and started to love herself more: “I believe in myself. It doesn’t matter what other people think. This is who I am. Let’s get on with it.”
Kate Winslet is currently filming for an upcoming movie and she confirmed that there are going to be some nude scenes. Earlier this year, she told Time magazine that everyone should stop calling actresses “brave” just because they are doing their jobs and sometimes have to film in certain conditions. “I’m not an ex-postmaster fighting for justice. I’m not in Ukraine. I’m doing a job that matters to me.”

6. Sharon Stone – “Basic Instincts”
Basic Instincts is best known for its hot scenes. Stone was told that she needed to remove her panties, as the white was reflecting the light. She had no idea until the movie was released that her genitals were on screen. As soon as she became aware of the situation, she immediately called her lawyer. The film is a masterpiece and her interrogation scene is probably one of the most popular in movie history. The gained popularity was because of her body or because of her acting skills? Probably, both. Considering that the movie was shot in 1992, people weren’t used at all to see so much skin on the screen.
Sharon Stone did an amazing job and the movie’s success made them come back with a second part in 2006.
Is It That Easy to Film HOT Scenes?
All of these hot scenes seem effortless, but in reality, they are pretty technical and can be really hard to film. In some cases, every move is choreographed, while in others, the actors are left alone. Some couples match perfectly and they don’t need any movement advice. The awkward situations appear when intimacy directors need to help the characters on set. Once they succeed in establishing a safe environment for the actors and they can feel safe expressing themselves and their limits, the scenes are easily done.
It’s important to know that on set, actors are usually wearing clothes or nude patches to protect their intimacy. What we see on TV is just the result and a form of art.
From the couch, this acting world is seen as being simple, but in reality, is not easy at all to be seen and especially judged by so many people. So, I would say that, yes, you need to be brave in order to be a good actor, same as you need to be brave in order to accomplish anything in life. Sometimes rules need to be broken and that is when courage is needed the most.
However, the difference between a good actor and an amazing actor is not strictly about acting skills, but also about hard work and accepted challenges.
