After returning to his seat, the actor yelled at Rock twice, expressing his rage: “Get my wife’s name out of your f***ing mouth!”
Rock delivered a joke about Jada’s newly shaven head, but a lot of people didn’t find it funny, Will Smith included. His wife has an autoimmune condition called alopecia, which makes the immune system attack hair follicles, causing hair loss.
Shortly after the ceremony, the Academy banned Will Smith for 10 years from future awards events. The famous actor apologized to Rock in a written post on his Instagram account, and many celebs had an opinion on the incident, including Mia Farrow and Taika Waititi.
