17. Books and money

There is something going on with money and thrift stores. First cash hidden in a bag, then a lot of dollars put in a piggy bank, and now in books.

I only have one question: what is the name of the thrift store y’all been going to? I would love to buy a book that has cash hidden in its pages.

18. Your grandma’s painting

This one is not very common around here, because not all people had grandparents that were artists. However, someone wrote on Reddit that they went to Goodwill and saw a painting that seemed familiar.

The artwork they were looking at was similar to something their grandmother had painted. As a matter of fact, it was actually her painting, which was sold approximately 25 years ago.

  1. The local thrift store started to sell electronics. I went in and saw what I thought was a single walkie talkie sitting on a table. I picked it up and checked it out. Turns out it was a digital police scanner… price tag on it was $3.99! Of course I bought it, put fresh batteries in it and when I turned it on I heard the weather report as clear as a bell. The cheapest I could find the radio on EBAY was for $299! Most offered for sale was around $350! Now, that’s a bargan!!

Most thrift stores have employees that check pockets and piggy banks and purses, etc. for money. Their employees also go online and find prices based on similar items. They have employees that make sure that items are clean.

  3. I went to a local church thrift store in family and found a pair of skorts shorts that had a skirt wrapped around them . The store had a dressing room so I went in and I tried them on and put my hands in the pockets on the si’d and found $300
