6. Teri Garr
The comedy actress has died at 79. She started her career with small gigs in Elvis Presley movies, but some of her most famous roles were Tootsie and Young Frankenstein. She was the daughter of Eddie Garr and Phyllis Garr, two incredibly popular figures, an actor and a costume designer, who contributed a lot in shaping her career as we know it. She received an Oscar Best Supporting Actress nomination for the latter role.
Numerous Hollywood stars paid tribute on social media as news of her death spread. Her colleague, Michael Keaton, wrote on Instagram: “Forget about how great she was as an actress and comedienne. She was a wonderful woman. Not just a great to work with but great to be around”.Â
