Color-coded keys!
If there’s one thing that we have a lot of as we get older, it’s keys! There are the car keys, the house keys, the ones from the garage, and the ones from the shed. Add to them the basement and attic ones, the back door ones, and any sort of yard equipment lock or other doors, and you’ve got yourself a lot of different types of keys that you have to keep track of.
And while it is easy to pinpoint the ones from the house, the garage, and the car since we use them most often, the others end up being a mystery! This is why this life hack is extremely useful. We are bound to have some old bottles of nail polish around, and that is all you need for the life hack, along with a hair dryer if you are impatient.
You will have to decide which color is for what door, and then you will paint the key heads on both sides. Then you either leave them to dry in between switching sides and coats or you use the hairdryer to speed up the process. This life hack will not take you more than a few hours on a rainy afternoon, and just like that, you have color-coded keys without having to spend any extra dollars.
