Respect for other countries
In 2011, she visited Dublin, and the trip had significant historical relevance. The last prevailing monarch to visit the nation was King George V, in 1911, when the area that is now the Republic was still a part of the United Kingdom.
Green is considered to be the national color of the Emerald Isle, and the Queen and her team knew that. Angela Kelly, the monarch’s dressmaker, put her in an outfit that was green from head to toe, as an emblem of peaceful Anglo-Irish relations.
As you can imagine, her clothing style was always very appreciated by the countries she visited, and many people said that she was using fashion as a way to show respect to those around her.
