This photo hurts. Deeply. First, I don’t want to be in that girl’s shoes. Losing a piece of cake is a disaster, almost like heartbreak. Secondly, I think her face perfectly depicts what it must have felt like. From what I can tell, there was nothing she could have done, so that piece of cake probably ended up on the floor or on her lap.
Truth be told, the same thing happened to me several times, and each time, I was extremely upset for days in a row. The only thing that I can hope for is that there was one last piece of cake left for her; otherwise, I don’t want to know how that must have felt. Or that she was on a diet. Sometimes, dropping your cake helps.
