Limiting your meals to a certain window of time each day, also known as intermittent fasting, has become a popular diet to lose weight quickly and reduce the risk of chronic illness. Famous figures have picked up the diet to help transform their physiques for certain roles.
Marvel star Chris Hemsworth used intermittent fasting to speed up weight loss and achieve a tip-top shape to play a shipwrecked sailor in “In the Heart of the Sea”, says his personal trainer Luke Zocchi.
“We implemented intermittent fasting as well as lower calories, and it was amazing how much that worked,” Zocchi said.
Despite its popularity, the evidence behind intermittent fasting is mixed. It may help people lose weight, but a 2020 study showed intermittent fasting may not speed up weight loss in every instance and may even result in muscle loss.
