We don’t often talk about Melania Trump… But maybe it’s time we did!
Every first lady in recent decades has made it their priority to carve out a place for themselves. Michelle Obama decided to get the younger generations moving as part of her push for healthy lifestyles, while Jackie O pushed her “just say no” to drugs agenda.
Both sought not only to change the attitude of Americans but to get policies enforced to create the conditions for some REAL change. For Melania Trump, it was her Be Best initiative.
It focused on well-being, opioid abuse, and the online safety of children, which is most likely to be her White House legacy.
But even though Melania was often bold in speaking her mind and siding against her husband, critics have remarked that Be Best hasn’t really had any influence on changing policies. So, did Melania achieve what she had set out to do? You tell us in the comments.
Yet, whether you love or hate her, one thing’s for sure: Melania Trump is an incredible mother and has ALWAYS put Barron first! Continue reading to find out what we mean.
Melania Trump first came to the US to work as a model. Her beauty opened doors to the fashion industry for her, and she was very good at what she did.
Back in 1987, young Melania decided to drop out of the University of Ljubljana in Slovenia because she decided to focus on modeling instead. It only took her a year of trying to get a lucrative contract with a modeling agency in Milan, Italy.
When she met Paolo Zampolli, a famous Italian businessman, he helped her get a work visa to get to the US. Back then, she planned on living in the US but had to travel back home a couple of times to renew her visa.
“I came here for my career, and I did so well that I moved here,” Melania said to Harper’s Bazaar at the time. “It never crossed my mind to stay here without papers. That’s just the person you are. You follow the rules. You follow the law.
You must fly back to Europe every few months and stamp your visa. After a couple of visas, I applied for a green card and received it in 2001. After getting my green card, I applied for citizenship. And it was a long process.”
At an event during 1998’s New York Fashion Week, Zampolli brought a friend, Donald Trump. He was on a date that evening, but when he saw Melania, he immediately wanted to know who she was.
One of Melania’s close friends, Edit Molnar, talked about that night and explained that Donald asked Melania for her number, but she refused to give it to him because he wasn’t alone.
“Melania said, ‘He’s here with a woman. I’m not giving him my number,'” Molnar told the New York Post. “She wouldn’t even consider it. Donald did all the work.” In turn, Melania also spoke of the night she first met Donald. “He wanted my number,” she said.
“But he was on a date, so I didn’t give it to him. I said, ‘I’m not giving you my number; give me yours, and I’ll call you.’ If I give him my number, I’m just one of the women he calls.” Eventually, they DID meet again, and one thing led to another. They began a relationship.
In 2001, when Melania got her green card, she was already living in Trump Tower. They got married about three years later, and in 2006, Barron Trump was born.
Even though Melania Trump ended her career as a model, she never stopped working, regardless of her husband’s immense wealth.
Melania has continued to be involved in the fashion industry, specifically jewelry. She never stopped designing pieces, not even when she lived in the White House as the First Lady.
The one-time model launched her Melania Timepieces and Jewelry collection for sale on QVC back in 2010. Every piece she has on sale represents her fashion style and personal aesthetics. Melania also marketed a skincare collection at a few high-end department stores.
It has been declared that according to the White House financial disclosure filing in Spring 2016, the First Lady’s company, Melania Marks Accessories Member Corporation, made somewhere between $15,000 and $50,000 in royalties a year.
According to sources, her net worth is roughly $50 million
Melania Trump is also involved in several charities other than her business, including the Be Best program, which she established in 2018. It seeks to promote emotional and physical well-being among youths.
“Social media can both negatively and positively affect our children. But too often, it’s used in negative ways,” she stated when she launched Be Best. “When children learn positive online behaviors early, social media can be used in productive ways.”
She continues, saying: “I believe that children should be both seen and heard, and it’s our responsibility as adults to remind and educate them that when they’re using their voices, whether online or verbally, they must choose their words wisely and speak with respect and compassion.”
Other incredible causes she supports are The American Red Cross, Love Our Children USA, the Martha Graham Dance Company, and the Police Athletic League.
Those close to the Trump family have proclaimed that Melania wasn’t happy with her husband’s plan to run for President in 2024. She didn’t want to return to the White House and believed that political work for the Republican Party wasn’t her job but her husband’s.
“Being First Lady again isn’t what she wants,” a source revealed to CNN. “For her, it was a chapter… and it’s over, and that’s that.”
But, as we all know, Trump won the elections and will serve as the President of the United States for another four years, and Melania supports him.
While she supports her husband, Melania is best known for her dedication to Barron
From the instant he was born, Melania went to great lengths to care for her son. She didn’t want the help of nannies, and she didn’t get any particular aid from her husband, who was busy with his business.
As the years went on, she has been extremely protective of her son, whom she has done everything she can to keep out of the spotlight. Just like his mother, Barron prefers to keep his life as private as possible.
When she appeared on Fox News, Melania stated that as a mother, you should “lead with love and take a child as an individual. She continued with saying that you should “be cautious and be very loving,” which speaks volumes of her measures as a mom.
When talking about what Barron was like as a child, Melania talked to Parenting, as quoted by Metro, and declared: “In his space, the decor style of the rest of our home is mixed with what he’s into: planes and helicopters.
“We let him be creative and let his imagination fly and do whatever he wants. Whatever he wants to do with his room later on, he can do it. He draws on the walls but we can paint it over. “When he was smaller, he started drawing on the walls,” she continued.
“His imagination is important and growing. He draws on the walls in his playroom; we can paint it over. One day, he was playing bakery and wrote ‘Barron’s Bakery’ on the wall with crayons. He’s very creative; if you say to a child ‘no, no, no,’ where does the creativity go?”
Love her or hate her, Melania Trump has done an incredible job raising her son in a public environment. Wouldn’t you say?… Let us know what you think in the comments section.
