Yes, you read that right. This Chinese vending machine is actually selling fresh crabs, as in live ones. But before you start thinking that they are inhumane about it, the temperature in the machine is kept at a constant 41F. This makes the crabs enter a state of hibernation, so they are not dead but not aware of what is going on either.
The company that owns these types of machines is so sure of their method that if you end up buying a crab that ends up being dead, they will give you back three live ones!
