#5 Idaho Potato Museum
This one may be seen by many as one of those useless museums and attractions that other countries make fun of, but when you stop to think about it, isn’t it actually brilliant? Not only is the potato (arguably) the most popular vegetable out there, but it is also the most versatile. Just think about all the ways in which you can cook them and use them in dishes, and you will realize why this is an important attraction.
Moreover, the Blackfoot attraction is not just for novelty’s sake. They actually take you down memory lane and show you all the insides of potato farming and what it takes to get them to your kitchen, alongside the fun parts of how they even became the base for an iconic character (anyone remember Mr. Potato Head?)
If you’re not interested in farming, maybe their potato chip experiments would be of more interest to you, as they modeled them after the real-deal recipes companies use to make their own!
Either way, if you happen to pass by, you should at least stop to take a picture with the huge baked potato! It’s iconic!
