Easy car mats!
Everyone is used to the rubber car mats, and while they are great to have and easy to clean, they also get dirty really fast, and the rubber gets old. At some point, you will have to exchange them for new ones. Sometimes they are not the best option to have in the car either; they can be uncomfortable, they slide around, and, let’s be honest, they do nothing to keep the sand from getting everywhere in the car.
A good life hack is to make use of carpet scraps and even old carpets you have around the home to make yourself a new set of car mats without having to spend tens of dollars on a new set! You can cut them to size, and when you have to clean them, you can easily throw them in the wash or even toss them out when they are too destroyed without feeling too guilty since you have been reusing parts or something that is no longer in use!
If you do not have any carpet in the home that you are not using, you can simply make a trip to Home Depot and ask them if they have carpet scraps, which you can get for as little as $2!
One thing you should be careful of is not placing these repurposed carpets on the driver’s side if you have not added some gripper to the bottom side of them since they can slip when driving and can cause an accident.
