There are more than 1 million people who immigrate to the US legally each year. However, in order to qualify for American citizenship, you must be a green card holder and have lived in the US for at least five years. A green card is like a stay visa that allows you to live and work in the country for an indefinite amount of time, but acquiring it can be a long, difficult process.
To pass the US citizenship test, applicants must answer at least 60% of the questions correctly. The questions are about US history, geography, and government. The citizenship test has 100 potential questions, but only 10 of them will be asked during the interview, which is given verbally.
If you answer correctly to 12/20 or more, you’ll pass the test portion of the citizenship interview!
