#6 Richard Harris

Richard Harris, a skilled performer on stage and screen with an illustrious career spanning decades, achieved possibly his highest-profile role late in his career, thanks to the successful Harry Potter film series. Albus Dumbledore, the adored headmaster of Potter’s school, was portrayed by Richard Harris in “The Sorcerer’s Stone” and “The Chamber of Secrets”, two of his final on-screen roles.

Harris accumulated numerous awards and honors outside of Hogwarts, despite the fact that to generations of Harry Potter fans, he’ll always be known as Dumbledore. He was a renowned singer, actor, director, writer, producer, and lyricist who received Grammy and Golden Globe honors for his contributions to fifteen different albums and more than 70 films, including “The Count of Monte Cristo”, “Gulliver’s Travels”, “Unforgiven”, and “Camelot.”

Harris passed away on October 25, 2002, at the age of 72, following a Hodgkin’s disease diagnosis.
