Trump Can STILL Become President After Indictment – Here’s Why

According to Susan Low Bloch, a law professor at Georgetown Law School, we don’t have an answer yet to this question because it’s never happened. If Trump will be back in power in 2024, Bloch sees two possibilities: either the indictment and the subsequent trial go forward, even though he’s president, or the indictment gets somewhat suspended.

In a statement released on March 30, the former president denied wrongdoing in the case and characterized the probe by the Manhattan District Attorney as part of a “witch hunt” against him.

A few weeks ago, Trump told reporters that he would “absolutely” stay in the race for the White House even if he were to be under indictment. He added that this would probably enhance his numbers.

Moreover, Trump has responded with an attack on Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, claiming that the indictment is in fact “political persecution.” He also wrote on Truth Social that he “can’t get a fair trial in New York.”

As Saikrishna Prakash, a constitutional law professor at the University of Virginia Law School, pointed out, the whole indictment situation is embarrassing but also makes Trump something of a martyr.
