8. Super Color Vision
You may know that our ability to see color is entirely due to cone cells in our eyes. People usually have three types of cones through which the brain connects with the eyes. The result? We’re able to see colors.
However, experts believe there’s a small portion of people called “tetrachromats” who are actually born with four cones, an incredibly rare body feature. These folks would be able to distinguish between 100 million different colors.
A team of neuroscientists spent several years looking for tetrachromats until they found someone in 2010. More people were discovered in the following years, but what’s more interesting is that they were all women. So this rare body feature may be unique to women.
