3. “Golden Blood”

You may think that having AB-negative blood is something rare. Well, although only 0.6% of Americans have this blood type, there’s another that’s even rarer, if not the rarest in the world.

I’m talking about Rhnull, a type of blood that entirely lacks Rh antigens. In 1961, an Australian was the first to be discovered to have this blood type. Since then, only around 40 more people have been found to have the same blood type, making it an incredibly rare body feature.

According to medical experts, there are only nine active donors in the entire community of rare blood donors. Because Rhnull is considered compatible with those with other rare blood types within the rare Rh family, doctors and researchers have called it “golden blood”.
