Intelligence on China
Further references to China in the leaked documents referred to the communist country’s weapons development but also naval activity. In fact, there was a note made on February 25 that referred to a flight test of a “developmental DF-27, a ballistic missile-class multirole hypersonic glide vehicle built to penetrate the US missile defense.
It seems that the missiles with hypersonic glide vehicles are specifically made to fly five times better than the speed of sound, which makes them almost impossible to shoot down. This fact once again reinforces the idea that China has the best and most advanced hypersonic weapon development programs in the world.
Additional documents might suggest that the United States tries to gather information on how other countries seem to interact with China using signals intelligence, which includes intercepted communications.
