China and Ukraine
One of the mentions in the leaked documents referred to a longstanding American concern about China. According to the leaked documents, it seems that Russia’s strategic partner would provide support for the Kremlin’s war efforts in Ukraine.
One of those documents showed that China might use Ukrainian strikes on targets very deep inside Russia just to cast NATO as an aggressor, and it might succeed if the attacks prove to be significant.
Also, China is bound to respond in a stronger manner, and it’s also likely to increase the scale and scope and provide Russia as long as the Ukrainian strikes hit a specific location or senior Russian leaders.
Also, those documents showed that a significant Ukrainian attack that might have used US and NATO weapons might be interpreted by Beijing as an escalation of the conflict between the two world powers, which might provide justification for China to provide Ukraine’s enemy with lethal aid.
