The tech titan has become a popular punchline and a walking target for online trolls. Shortly after taking over as Twitter CEO, Musk came up with platform changes that have severely backfired, including paid-for verification badges. As a result, lots of employers resigned.
Moreover, some public figures and celebs, including Shonda Rhimes, Gigi Hadid, and Toni Braxton, have expressed concern over what Musk would do with the platform. Some of them even decided to leave the platform.
The billionaire, a self-proclaimed “free speech absolutist”, has already stated that he aims to create a new “content moderation council” for Twitter that would gather diverse views.
On top of all of this, in June 2022, Musk’s daughter publicly disowned him and legally changed her name.
