8. Johnny Depp & Amber Heard
The defamation trial between Johnny Depp and Amber Heard was definitely the most talked-about case of the year. Even though Depp won, neither he nor Heard were able to leave the courtroom without having their reputations tainted.
To summarize the entire scandal, Heard accused her ex-husband Depp of sexually assaulting her in a 2018 opposing editorial. Meanwhile, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor claimed she was defaming him.
During the trial, several celebs defended Depp, and many of his supporters started an online petition asking for Amber to be dropped from the DC universe. However, we don’t know yet whether she will play in Aquaman 2.
And while Depp’s fans hoped the trial’s verdict would bring the actor back into the Fantastic Beasts franchise, it hasn’t happened.
