1. Hacked off

Back in the day, when someone said that a person was “hacked off,” what they meant was that the person they were talking about was extremely angry. And when we say they were extremely angry, we want you to imagine that cartoonish guy who blows steam out of both ears.

So, that’s it. When your friend is “hacked off,” you better leave them alone for a while and get back to them later. We think it is better this way.

2. Groovy

This one is such a melodious word, and there is no wonder why. This term comes from jazz, and it was used to express that a piece is playable, as in a groovy record. Also, this is one of the most popular boomer phrases out there.

Everybody was using the word “groovy” when they wanted to describe something as being cool or excellent. Being “groovy” means that someone or something has a beat and soul. What more can you want? This is an amazing word that can express so much while being so simple.
