4. Mimi Alford
Mimi Alford was a White House intern who claimed to have had an 18-month affair with the 35th president. The whole thing started after Alford was given the internship a year after she met the president during her visit to the White House for a story for her prep school newspaper. According to her, she didn’t even apply for the position.
She described their alleged relationship in her 2012 memoir, “Once Upon a Secret: My Affair With John F. Kennedy and Its Aftermath.” Her book was pretty explosive.
In an interview, Alford said that the president was a magnetic man, pointing out that he wasn’t looking for someone to replace her wife. She also wrote that the president’s special assistant, Dave Powers, was the one in charge of setting up her alleged dalliances with Kennedy. We know from JFK’s biographer, Laurence Leamer, that Powers was known as the “procurer” of willing women.
