Melania Trump is the only First Lady who was a model.
If there is one thing that is known about Melania Trump, it is that she used to be a model. Yet, not many people know just how successful she was or how young she started her career. Even before she even dreamed of immigrating, she had been a model ever since she was a teen, and then she ended up gaining popularity and success outside of her home country.
She has been a model for big magazines such as Vanity Fair, GQ, Harper’s Bazaar, Vogue, and Sports Illustrated. The controversy around her having been a model is not the fact that she was one, but rather that back in 2000, which is more than two decades ago, she appeared in a nude photoshoot for British GQ. While it is weird to think about a former First Lady in such terms, it is not something that should have been held against her, as back then she couldn’t have known that she would end up married to a future president.
Besides her modeling career, Melania Trump has also been a businesswoman, as she opened a skincare line based on caviar in 2013, along with a jewelry line in 2010.
