Mayim Bialik is probably best known for playing Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler in “The Big Bang Theory”. While Amy was a neuroscientist, the actress who played her also has a PhD in neurosciences under her belt. Her academic training didn’t exactly do what it was meant to do, but the actress eventually admitted that her PhD helped her play this role.
Her research focused on obsessive-compulsive disorder among patients with Prader-Willi syndrome. According to CNN, the highly educated actress studied hormones and how they affect child-rearing bonding. She even went on to write some books, including Beyond the Sling and STEM to Story.
