So the theory is that this very hopeful 1991 power ballad, which arrived right after the collapse of the Soviet Union, wasn’t really written by West German rockers Scorpions. Apparently, it was secretly penned by the CIA to promote some kind of pro-Western agenda.

But the Scorpions frontman Klaus Meine insisted many times that he wrote the song, not the American government. He also said that “it’s a fascinating and interesting idea, but it’s not true at all.”

  1. Hotel California is not in California. It is in an small artist community north of Cabo about 30 miles most of everything about this is hype including some of the pictures I’ve been to the Real hotel California. Therecarevsome nice churches there…
