Love Rollercoaster – Ohio Players

The theory about this song is that the high-pitched scream that can be heard at the 2:32 mark of this 1975 funk banger allegedly belongs to a woman being murdered in or close to the studio. Other odd versions of the story even identify the victim as the Playboy model Ester Cordet, a woman who was dripping honey into her mouth on the cover of Ohio Players’ “Honey” album.

The sticky-sweet fluid started reacting with the fiberglass (you can check out the gatefold inner photo) and directly fused to her skin. She immediately threatened a lawsuit, and as retaliation, the band’s manager stabbed her to death during a recording session.
