Big Brother Africa
Who was a fan of the Big Brother reality TV show? It was a thing back in the 2000s, even if, in my opinion, it wasn’t really a big deal! However, many countries adapted it to their own tastes, and the biggest surprise was when everybody found out that even Africa became one of them.
This reality competition program, which was filmed in South Africa, was a worldwide spinoff of the well-known “Big Brother” series. 42 countries on the continent received the transmission, and the program immediately gained popularity.
But soon after the program debuted in 2003, Malawian politicians judged it indecent and forbade it from broadcasting there. When the series was reintroduced in 2007, the prohibition was quickly lifted, giving Malawians a chance to enjoy the competitive drama.
