Ray Liotta, who created memorable characters in “Field of Dreams”, “Goodfellas” and other movies as well as on television, was known primarily for playing Joey Perrini on the soap opera “Another World”. His unexpected death shocked everyone.
His breakout role was in the movie “Something Wild” in 1986. Then in 1990, the actor won critical praise for playing Shoeless Joe Jackson in “Field of Dreams”. However, most people know him best for his role in “Goodfellas”, which quickly came to be considered a classic.
Liotta won an Emmy award in 2005 for a guest appearance on the medical drama TV series “ER”. More recently, the actor appeared on television in the miniseries “Texas Rising” in 2015 and the crime drama series “Shades of Blue” in 2016. He passed away in his sleep on May 26, 2022, at the age of 67. No cause of death was given.
